Itinerary

Each day is planned by the Numa team and led by local Easy Riders, with mountain roads, viewpoints, village stops, meals and time to relax built into the route.

Day1

Start the loop

  • Wake up at Numa Hotel and enjoy breakfast, coffee and tea.
  • Meet your group, team leader and easy rider for the safety introduction and itinerary briefing.
  • Choose your helmet and safety gear, fitted properly by your rider.
  • Hit the road and ride through winding mountain passes, viewpoints and famous attractions.
  • Stop for lunch around 12–1pm.
  • Arrive at your accommodation around 4–5pm, relax, then enjoy dinner with your group.
Day2

Ride deeper into the mountains

  • Breakfast at the accommodation before riding through quieter roads and local villages.
  • Explore viewpoints, mountain passes and cultural stops along the route.
  • Lunch around 12–1pm.
  • Continue towards the next overnight stop with plenty of photo opportunities.
  • Dinner with your group in the evening.
Day3

Ride deeper into the mountains

  • Enjoy a slower day with more time for hidden valleys, swimming spots and local experiences.
  • Your easy rider may take alternative routes away from the busiest tourist areas.
  • Lunch around 12–1pm.
  • Arrive at your final accommodation around 4–5pm.
  • Dinner and evening with your group.
Day4

Return to Ha Giang

  • Wake up and enjoy your last breakfast with your group around 8am.
  • Your team leader runs through the plan before heading back towards Ha Giang.
  • Get back on the bike around 9–9:30am.
  • Explore traditional villages, hidden valleys, swimming spots and scenic attractions.
  • Stop for lunch around 12–1pm.
  • Arrive back at Numa Hotel around 4pm.

Border Area Permit

Foreign travellers may need a border-area permit for parts of the Ha Giang Loop. The Numa team will prepare the paperwork before your tour. Please bring your passport and follow any document instructions sent by our team.

Self-Rider Documents

If you plan to ride yourself, you are responsible for carrying a valid motorcycle licence and the correct international driving permit recognised in Vietnam.

Bring a small backpack for the bike. Your main luggage can stay safely at Numa Hotel. Bring cash for your tour payment, personal spending, soft drinks, alcohol, insurance and optional driver tips.

Is the Ha Giang Loop suitable for beginners?

Yes. If you’re new to riding, you can join one of our experienced Easy Riders and enjoy the journey as a passenger. Confident riders with the correct licence can also choose to ride their own motorcycle.

All of our tours include your motorcycle or Easy Rider, fuel, accommodation, meals during the tour, entrance fees and guidance from our local team. You’ll only need spending money for personal purchases and drinks.

The best tour depends on your schedule. Our 2 Day / 1 Night tour is perfect if you’re short on time, while the 3 Day / 2 Night tour offers the ideal balance of scenery and local experiences. The 4 Day / 3 Night tour gives you the most relaxed pace and visits even more hidden locations.
